Mac McElwee has retired to Sibley Lake in Natchitoches.
1975
Danny Wood and his wife, Sue, have two children. Their daughter is Katherine and their son is Charles (2002) who is a Radiation Oncologist.
1978
Diana and Steven Bienvenu live in Shreveport and are both faculty members of LSUHSC-S. Diana is an Associate Clinical Professor in Pediatrics and the Director of the 4J Nursery. Steven is also an Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics and the Director of the Pediatric Outpatient Clinic. Their son, John (2008), stayed here for his Internal Medicine Residency. Their son, Ryan, 24, graduated from Georgia Tech in May of 2008 with his BS in Biochemical Engineering. His research projects have included growing blood vessels for hemodialysis grafts and an implantable device to improve vision.
Cindy Black-Payne and her husband, Dr. Keith Payne, have two children. John, 22, is at the Georgia Institute of Technology and Ann Claire, 19, is at Baylor University.
Steve Conrad and his wife, Mona, live in Shreveport where Steve is a member of the LSUHSC faculty, practicing Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine. Their oldest son, David, is a patent attorney in Dallas. Their daughter, Lesley, is currently a senior medical student here at LSUHSC-S. Their youngest child, Taylor, is a Political Science major at Tulane University.
George De Vault is an Associate Clinical Prefessor of Medicine for the Division of Renal Medicine and Hypertension at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He was previously the Director of Transplant Nephrology at the University of Utah Health Sciences Center and Maine Medical Center. His wife, Marilyn, is a stay at home mom and is also remodling their home. Their son, Christopher, has his Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of Miami. Their daughter, Leah, is a sophomore at Lewis Palmer High School. She is nearing her completion of Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.
David Deas has four children: Phillip, 30, Angela, 28, Trevor, 21, and Brooklyn, 16. He quit playing golf in 1987 and started coaching baseball. He did that for 20 years and then retired from coaching. He has been the Cheif of Anesthesia for Christus Schumpert for the past six or seven years.
Scotty Hermann is doing clinical research in addition to his private practice and is the co-owner of an Italian Restaurant (Rosati's) in Waco, Texas. He also referees college basketball.
Karl LeBlanc is the Past-President of the American Hernia Society. He is also on the Advisory Council for General Surgery to the ACS and Secreatry/Treasurer of the American Society of General Surgeons. He serves on the editorial Board of the Journal of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons and Hernia Journals.
Kim LeBlanc was in private practice in Breaux Bridge from 1981 until 1999. He then entered academic medicine as the Family Medicine Residency Program Director in Lafayette. In 2002, he became Chairman of the Department of Family Medicine at the LSUHSC School of Medicine in New Orleans. He currently holds that position as well as being the Director of Rural Education. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine and holds a certificate of added qualifications in Sports Medicine. In 1998 he obtained a Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology from LSU. From 1990 to 2002 he served as coroner of St. Martin Parish. He is also a Past President of the Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians. In 2002, he was appointed by the governor to the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners and is still serving after being appointed to a second term in 2005. He has served as Vice President of the Board(two years), President (three years), and immediately following Hurricane Katrina also served as Executive Director for eight months (on an interim basis.) In 2006, he was elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the Federation of State Medical Boards. He has served on the USMLE Step 3 Committee since 2006. He also writes questions in Ambulatory Care for the USMLE Step 3 examination. He has three wonderful daughters ages 30, 25 and 22. His oldest daughter and her husband provided him with a grandson in July of 2006!
Barron O'Neal married Mary Markaverich in 1986. They have four children ages 14, 16, 18 and 20. He serves on the Vestry of St. Mark's Church. His tennis team won the regional and state tournaments and came in fourth place in nationals. His hobby is tree farming. He still likes to put on a mask at Halloween and scare people.
Art Ruckman is (still) married to Marcia. They have two children, Troy, born in 1979 and Megan, born in 1982. After a tour in the Navy, they moved to Wenatchee, Washington where they have been living since (1983), enjoying a great place to practice medicine and live. Depending on the season, they either need skis and snowboards or hiking boots or mountain bikes!
Nancy and Tommy Smith have three sons, Ross (25) who is a member of the Class of (2011) at LSUHSC-S School of Medicine, Jason (22) who is a junior at Louisiana Tech majoring in Political Science and Phillip who is a freshman at LSU majoring in Biology.
1979
Melinda Prevost and her husband, Gerald Miletello, have three girls: twins Sarah and Emily, 24 and Ellen, 22.
1981
Ray Watts was named the Director of the Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at UAB.
1982
Rhonda Webb and her husband, Bill ('83), have two sons. Michael is a senior at the University of Denver and Jeffrey is a sophomore at Vanderbilt University. Rhonda enjoys traveling, winter sports and hiking. They love the "empty nest!"
1985
Tom Denley traveled to Greece, Turkey and Germany in September of 2005 and to China, Thailand, Singapore and Hong Kong in October of 2006. His interests include the study of health care delivery and the medico-legal climate in other countries. He is a member of the American Association of Physicians and Surgeons. He also attended the BCS National Champion game in New Orleans in January of 2008, GO TIGERS!!!
1988
Rayland Beurlot recently built a new office. His wife, Kelly, is completing her Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Their daughter, Lauren attends the Bolton High School gifted program and plays on the tennis team. Their son, Kyle, also plays competitive tennis and attends Alexandria Country Day School.
Bobby Casanova has four daughters: Carolyne, 17, Katelyn, 15, Lindsey and Laura, 11 (twins).
Tommy Causey and his wife Susan have been in Monroe since 1996. Rachel, Rebecca and Thomas, their children, keep them busy with pageants, soccer, basketball, etc.
Ellen Connor is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at University of Wisconsin in Madison. She is also a soccer mom and a band mom: her daughter began playing soccer for St. Olaf College this fall and both her daughter and son have been members of a competitive marching band based out of their high school. She also enjoys teaching in the medical and nursing schools as well as undergraduates at UW. She also has a practice of pediatric diabetes, PCOS, and endocrinology.
David Dawes has been married to Terri for 20 years. They have two children, Dana, 17 and Zach, 16. He is a psychiatrist in Lafayette and is a distinguished Fellow in the APA. He enjoys swimming, basketball and travelling.
Tom Gates is an Associate Professor of Radiology here at LSUHSC-S and is the Director of Pediatric Radiology. He and Sheryl have been married for the past 25 years and they have three children: Stephen (19), Ryan (17), and Kyle (14).
Nancy Germany is still working part-time at Pines Road Family Medicine but has now ventured into the skin care arena with the “Ageless Beauty Laser and Skin Clinic.” She says its loads of fun and right up her alley. “Let’s face it…if I hadn’t gone to Medical School, I’d probably be an Avon Lady!”
Cheryl (Russell) Goyne and her husband Mitchell have two children, Austin, 17, and Sarah, 14.
Gregory and Mitra Green just celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary. Mitra is working as a Pediatric Hospitalist and Greg is in private practice doing Family Medicine. They have four children: Katie, 17, Cammie, 14, Emily, 13, and Jack, 9.
Rob Haskins is an OB/GYN outside of St. Louis. He and his wife, Katherine, have six children ages 12 to 21.
Melanie Helms and her husband Phillip Gilson, M.D. have been married for 13 years. He is a full time Urologist and she an Anesthesiologist in Evansville, IN. They have four dogs that she competes in dog shows with. Her oldest girl is the “winningest” ever Welsh Springer Spaniel girl. They also spend a lot of time travelling in their 41 foot RV- dogs and all!
Stephen Hennigan and his wife, Michell, have three children and he enjoys the simple life of an Infectious Disease doctor and raising a family.
Stephen Holt was scheduled to move to Hong Kong this past summer as a medical director for an air ambulance company.
Robin Kilpatrick and Hal Clausen have three children, Sarah (15), TR (14), and Adam (12). She “retired” from her busy Endocrinology practice in June of 2001 to help raise their children. She has been teaching one day a week at the Earl K. Long LSUHSC Endocrine Clinic for the past five years and plans to increase her workload in the near future to help pay for college tuition! Hal is busy with his Cardiology practice. He and Fred Petty are partners in a ten person group- Baton Rouge Cardiology. Hal’s free time is spent coaching either hockey or baseball and he is the groundskeeper and pool boy at their four acre property!
Charles Lawler was the Chief of Staff of Woman’s Hospital in 2005.
Bob Marshall and his wife Inez have two children. Erin L. Marshall is a graduate of Centenary College and is currently working at First United Methodist Church in Shreveport and Scott M. Marshall is a student at UL in Lafayette.
Tommy Montgomery is in private practice as an orthopedic surgeon. He has been happily married to Deidre for the past 22 years and they have four children: Forrest, 17, Madison, 15, Carver, 13, and Oakley, 11. He enjoys woodworking, welding and gardening.
Kevin Murphy has been practicing at the Family Doctors in Shreveport for since 1996 and assumed the role of President of The Family Doctors in October 2007. He has three wonderful boys, a beautiful wife and they all enjoy their home in Benton and occasionally fish.
Steve North is in private practice with two other LSUHSC alumni—Richard Mooney (1981) and Eric Peterson (1991) in Roswell, NM. He and his wife, Faith, have four children: Jacob, Sarah, Emily and Leah.
Jeff Penfield is the Lay leader of First United Methodist Church of Forney, TX. He and his wife, Tina, have four children: April, David, Geoffrey and Nathaniel.
Leticia Poret and her husband, Roland Vasquez, have one son, Vincent Victor, born 1/7/99. She is in a solo practice in Internal Medicine.
Mark Posner and his wife, Linda, have three children: Joshua, 13, Aaron, 11, and Rachel, 8; and two dogs: Hunny Bun and Hester. He practices in a five person Urology Group in Baton Rouge that includes Jim Morris (1992) and Randy Vick (1992).
Keith Rhynes and Susan Futayyeh have two children, Summer (13) and Erin (11). He is a general surgeon practicing minimally invasive surgery in Baton Rouge and is the Assistant Director of the Surgery Program at LSUHSC in New Orleans.
Michael Roppolo has been married to Monica since 1989. He completed his Residency and a Fellowship in Nephrology at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock. They moved to Baton Rouge in 1993 and have three children, Paul (1995), Natalie (1998) and John (2002). They love LSU sports and chasing children around.
Bubba Russell and his wife Laurie recently celebrated 27 years of marriage. They have two children. Britni just graduated from LSU in May and began graduate School this fall and Brandon just graduated from Minden High School in May. Bubba has enjoyed his busy private practice in Minden since finishing his OB/GYN Residency in 1992.
David Sanusi is married to Lisa Sansone from Lake Providence. They have four children, Jeremy (15), Matthew (10), Joseph (9) and Anna (6). He is currently the Director of Anesthesiology at Wellstar Cobb Hospital in a suburb of Atlanta.
Greg Seal is now a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. His wife, Donna, is now the Volunteer Director and Chief Marketer of the Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission. They take their nieces and nephews to Six Flags way too much, LOL!
Norman Williams and his wife, Lori, have two boys. Alexander is eight and Spencer is ten. They live in Monroe. Norman is an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine - Emergency Services.
1991
Anne Barron is a hospitalist for Hospice of Chattanooga and finds her work rewarding and meaningful. Her husband O.J. is the headmaster at the Bright School. Their daughter Mary Morell was married this June and loves her work in D.C. Their son James, 13, enjoys fencing and animals and their daughter Sarah-Spence, 10, is a Hannah Montana fan.

John Storment and his wife, Amelie, have three children: Camille, Claire, William.
1993
Scott Nicholson-Uhl and his partner Craig were married in Canada in 2006. They have one son, Lucas William that was born 4/13/2006.
1994
Martha Coppage is living in New Iberia, working with the Woman's Clinic as an OB/GYN. She has two children, Lauren (2) and Zachary (8).
Brian Williams and his wife, Amy, have three children. Emma Cate is 5, Chance is 3 and Campbell is 1.
1995
John Lemieux and his wife, Susie, have two children: Marcie (20) and Quinn (17). And now they have one granddaughter, Ella (1).
Troy Martin is part of a seven doctor practice in Lafayette, Louisiana. He and his wife, Charlene, have three children, Connor, Jacob, and Shaohannah. He owns a martial arts school called Cajun Karate. He is currently president of the board of Stuller Place which aids victims of rape, child abuse, and molestation. He is the head of the Department of General Medicine at Lafayette General Medical Center. When he is not working he enjoys camping and bow hunting.
1996
Clint Griffin and his wife, Angela, moved to Zeeland, Michigan after he completed his residency in Baton Rouge in 1999. For this trade, the following was agreed upon: 1) an annual fall visit to Baton Rouge is mandatory, 2) an annual winter trip to somewhere warm is mandatory, and 3) Michigan State must trade Nick Saban for Clint's services. All in all a pretty good deal. He practices in Holland, Michigan which is a summertime beach resort community. Lake Michigan is a beautiful draw for many in the Midwest. They have three great kids (Haley, 7, Colton, 5, and Braden, 3) that they are raising as terrific Tiger fans!
Michelle (Ingram) Mayeux and her husband, Chris, have been married for 13 years. They have four children: Michael, 9, Stephen, seven, and William, four, and Matthew 1.
Anji Singh is in Springfield, IL doing pediatric Orthopaedics with her husband Tom Hansen, MD. They have a four year old daughter, Katie, and had a son, Joel in June (2008.)
1997
Wendy Moreland and her husband, Richard, have two girls. Megan is 7 and Kate is 4.
Chris and Stephanie ('01) Sockrider live in Shreveport LA. They have 4 sons; Benjamin 8, Walker 4, Grant 3, and Henry 8 months. Chris practices Breast Surgery in a solo private practice. Stephanie practices OB-GYN in a group private practice.
1998
Scott Babin and his wife, Melanie, have four children; Christian, 10, Brandt and Braden, 6, and Jax, 6 months.
Christine Braud completed her Emergency Medicine Residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center and a fellowship in Trauma Critical Care at ShockTrauma. She works fulltime in four emergency departments around Baltimore. She has four four-legged children and travels as often as possible to anywhere.
Gina and Beau Brouillette have three children, 9, 7 and 3. They live in Pineville and Beau is still practicing medicine but Gina is staying home as a full-time mom.
Alan Brown and his wife Dodie have two girls, Taylor and Gabrielle, 8 and 3. He is in a four physician private practice serving as a traditional internist. He admits to Willis Knighton Pierremont and Highland hospitals.
Robert Carroll and his wife Callie have added one daughter, Addie, now 6, to their family since graduation. His oldest son, Patrick, plans to start college at North Carolina State and Ross, 15, is still playing competitive soccer and hopes to do something with this in the future.
Christina Chamberlain is a neonatologist with Pediatric Medical Group of Fort Worth. She is married and has two children. Her son, Cameron, is two and a half years old and her daughter, Lillian is under a year.
Matthew Chamberlain and his wife, Sara, have two sons. He is the Medical Co-Director of Baton Rouge Community Clinic, for working uninsured patients and is the Vice-Chief of Family Practice at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital.
Michael Chanler and his wife, Jill, have twins, Emily Evan and Landon Riley, born 4/28/07. He is the co-owner of Rapid Relief Xperts with Chris Earnhardt in Shreveport and was awarded Minden’s Choice for favorite Family Practice Doctor in 2004 and 2006.
Chris Earnhardt and his wife, Melanie have two daughters, Faith, 7, and Emma, 4. He is the co-owner of a local retail health clinic, Rapid Relief Xperts with Mike Chanler and has been practicing in Minden for seven years.
Brian Ford and his wife Tracy have two children, Elise Claire born 4/21/06 and Brandon Paul, born 2/17/08.
Andy Haynes and his wife, Sylvia, have three children, Drew, 8, Sarah, 3 and Claire, 2 months.
David Helft and his wife, Elizabeth, had their first child, Michael, on 2/12/08.
Glenda Johnson and her husband, Chris Kevil, have two children, Ben, 7, and Claire, 1.
Elizabeth Knapp and her husband Vince Shouba, were blessed by the birth of their son Jackson in November of 2006. She is now working part-time in pediatrics but is a full-time mom.
Tracey Lakin and her husband, Grant Cox, have two children, Joshua and Kennedy, both two. They live in Tulsa and both she and her husband are in private practice.
Sherin (Hanna) Mercer and her husband, Matthew, have two children.
Catherine Speights has two dogs, Boudreaux and Pirogue. She worked in the ER for five years and changed to Urgent Care this year.
2000
Heather and Paul Bracey are in the process of trying to move back to Shreveport. Their twins, Emily and Ethan (6) started first grade this year and Noah (4) and Nate (3) are not far behind.
2003
Amber (Mayfield) Yates is currently pursuing her Pediatric Hematology-Oncology fellowship at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. She will graduate June 2009. She married Adam Yates a year ago September.
2004
Jeremy Henderson is in his fourth year of Pathology Residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He completed his residency training in June and began his fellowship in hematopathology at UAB in July. He was the recipient of a travel award that funded his trip to the Twelfth Annual Advancing Practice, Instruction, and Innovation through Informatics (ALIII) Conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in September. He had an abstract that was accepted for presentation at a scientific meeting. He presented "Plasmacytic-type PosttransplantLymphoproliferative Disorder Presenting in Bone Marrow" as a poster presentation at the Pan Pacific Lymphoma Conference in Maui, Hawaii in June. And in October, he was appointed as a member of the e-course Committee of the American Society for Clinical Pathology and as a member of the Council on Accreditation of the College of American Pathologists. He also continues to serve as one of nine members-at-large of the Resident Council of the American Society for Clinical Pathology and as an Alabama delegate to the College of American Pathologists Resident Forum.
Laurie (LeBleu) Vaszily and her husband Chris have one child. They moved to Monroe earlier in the year and she is practicing at the Woman's Clinic.
2006
Ryan Arnold and his wife, Kacey, have a son, Sam Elliott who is two and a half years old. They also have a dog and a turtle.
2007
Michael Baker and his wife, Kasey, have been married 16 years. They have two children: Emily Lauren (10) and Holly May (8).
Tol Fowler is doing his anesthesiology residency in Shreveport. His hobbies include coastal fishing, Microsoft access database design, and vacation/travel.
